Hundertwasser-Tower of Abensberg

Friedensreich Hundertwasser or with his born name, Friedrich Stowasser, was an austrian painter and artist, 1928-2000. He is probably the best known european artist today and his last project was the design of the “Kuchlbauer Tower” of Abensberg. Tough Hundertwasser died during the planning phase of the tower, the owner of the Kuchlbauer Brewery, Leonhard Salleck, and the architekt Peter Pelikan finished the work of the 34 mtr. tall building  and opened it for visitors Jan. 2010. The tower gets an overwhelming response by tourists from all over the world, who are visting the small city of Abensberg in Lower Bavaria, Germany. Here´s some more information if you like; Enjoy!

Awesome. I love the insanity and impossibility of Hundertwasser. A dream indeed. He also had theories about how it was better for humans to walk on undulating surfaces – as opposed to flat roads. I tried designing my garden at home along those lines. (Unsurprisingly this approach proved to be incompatible with a lawn-mower.) Your final shot is especially beautiful…

Thank you, Rachael! The whole area where the tower stands is buildt in this style! In fact, it´s very difficult to buildt all those things in undulated, round shaped forms. And thanks for “especially beautiful”! Werner
