Hop Fields & Moon

There are so many great moments out there – if you are ready to see them! The moon makes a fantastic obstacle to shoot with among the hop fields. It´s good to know your turf and even better to have some tools that makes your vision and anticipation easier to locate to. I´m using the “Photographers Ephemeris”, a desktop free programm, to get all the dates/ephemeris; for example where and when the moon will rise and set. If you are interested to learn more about that programm, go to : http://photoephemeris.com/. By the way, thanks a lot Stephen Trainor for providing such a fantastic programm!

That last image is taken with my Meade 8″ telescope and the Pentax k-x (crop factor 1,5), that provides me a overall focal length of 3000 mm! The waning gibbous moon rises beyond the  hop field, which is roughly some 200 meter from my point of view away. The image is not cropped, just out of the camera with little adjustments in LR 3. Location:  48.7229° N, 11.8897° E, 443 m above sea level. Dates are also provided by the Photographers ephemeris programm. Enjoy!

“Everyone  is a moon, and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody!” (Mark Twain, American Writer, 1835-1910)
