Winter Hop Picking

Hop picking season is actually from the end of August to the end of September, but there can be an exception sometimes. On this plant grew socalled “young hop”, which is not fully outgrown yet and not worth to harvest to on the main season. Now in wintertime, they got more time and muse to do so-even its minus 8 degrees and with a strong wind blowing! I was photographing this plant a few weeks ago for its nice motive, but this time they “took it off”. Coming by gave mir a good opportunity to watch this spectacle, which is even for this area we call the Hallertau (the largest hop planting area in the world), a quite unusual sight. I categorize this one under “Fun” for its uniqueness, but it wasn´t proably fun at all for those two guys up in the pulpit!
